Product Engineering is a unified team responsible for the engineering of Disney Entertainment & ESPN digital and streaming products and platforms. This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.

The Senior, Software Engineer will be responsible for: 

•  Design and build robust software applications, utilizing software engineering expertise to deliver high performance solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and engineering, to identify opportunities, business impact and technical requirements.
•  Work on improving system scale and throughput for handling high concurrency
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Build user-centric, quality products.
•   Provide on-call rotational support as needed.

What we need from you to be part of this story:

• 4+ years of developing software products.
• Advanced level of English.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field or equivalent practical experience. 
• Experience in programming with Frontend UI development and proficient with one or more general purpose programming languages (Python, Java, Javascript, etc).
• Experience in programming with Java or any other Object-oriented programming language.
• Experience with React, Angular, NodeJS (is a plus)
• Experience building high availability UIs with complex security requirements
• Solid understanding of web accessibility fundamentals.
• Strong knowledge to web standards and new technologies.
• Understanding of async programming models (events, callbacks, promises, async/await) and threading/concurrency (is a plus).
• Understanding of source control concepts and systems, CI/CD pipelines and exposure to Git (is a plus).
