As a Senior Controls Engineer, you would join a dynamic, team that has a passion for spotting problems and the know-how to diminish them. This role requires a self-sufficient, individual contributor who will troubleshoot engineering solutions for electrical ride & show systems. The Senior Controls Engineer will report to Manager, Sustaining Engineering.

Responsibilities/You will:

  • Develop/implement immediate engineering solutions based on collected data.

  • Perform engineering analysis.

  • Verify design/installation compliance with applicable codes and standards.

  • Supervise fabrication and installation efforts.

  • Develop engineering design documentation including engineering drawings, calculations, system requirements, hazards analysis, performance specifications, test plans, and maintenance procedures.

Basic Qualifications/You will have:

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical/controls engineering within the industrial controls, automation, theme park or transportation industries.

  • Previous experience with open and closed loop feedback control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), relay logic, electric motors (AC and DC) and motor controllers (variable frequency, DC, stepper and servo drives), power conditioning, and distributed control networks (e.g. ControlNet)

  •  Field troubleshooting experience including solution development and implementation in the industrial controls, automation, or show industries.

  • Experience working in multi-engineering discipline efforts including design, installation, testing, and sustaining/plant engineering on safety critical systems.

  • Proficiency documenting engineering design information in AutoCAD or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Windows based Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Proven oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, occasional 2nd or 3rd shifts, and immediate response coverage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code, NFPA 79 and UL 508A codes and standards.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of audio and video systems including: amps/mixers, microphones, digital audio, cameras, projectors, video servers, and displays.

  • Demonstrated experience with software programming including ladder logic (Allen Bradley or Siemens) and C environments.

  • Understanding of PC and Network systems including: hardware, switches/routers, wireless, cabling/fiber communication, IP configuration, network security, and general troubleshooting.

  • EIT or Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of Florida

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited curriculum.
