How will you contribute to our magical experience?
The Analyst, Content Analytics will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into strategic insights that will shape the future of our content and audience experience on Disney Streaming platforms.
This role will not just report on performance, but will proactively dive deep into consumption patterns, apply statistical and Machine Learning models to predict trends, and partner directly with stakeholders to influence content at a regional level, uncovering the hidden stories in our data and translate them into actionable recommendations that drive engagement, retention, and business growth.
The Analyst, Content Analytics will be responsible for:
- Create and maintain automated dashboards and reports in BI tools (like Looker) that empower stakeholders to monitor KPIs and explore data independently.
- Work with massive datasets using SQL to extract, transform, and analyze information from various sources. Propose improvements to data ingestion and structure to enable more efficient and robust analyses.
- Design and execute complex analyses to deeply understand the content lifecycle, performance, acquisition and engagement. Apply statistical and Machine Learning techniques to develop models that anticipate consumer behavior and content performance.
- Design and analyze the results of tests and other experiments to validate hypotheses about content and platform features. Stay current on the latest trends in data analytics, Machine Learning, and the entertainment industry.
- Collaborate closely with Content, Marketing and Finance teams to identify key challenges and growth opportunities. Translate business questions into concrete data hypotheses and analyses, presenting results in a clear and compelling manner.
What we need from you to be part of this story:
- +2 years of experience in data analysis, data science, or business intelligence roles, ideally in media, entertainment or tech industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative fields like Economics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Computer Science, ideally with a postgraduate degree or specialized courses in Data Science, Business Analytics, or Machine Learning.
- Demonstrable and solid experience using data visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI to create interactive dashboards and reports. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office / Google Workspace suite, especially Excel / Google Sheets for ad-hoc analysis.
- Mastery of analytics and BI tools.
- Advanced, proven experience with SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets in environments like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.
- Programming experience with Python or R for data analysis, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib/Seaborn.
- Knowledge of statistical and Machine Learning models (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series) to solve business problems.
- Experience analyzing digital media consumption metrics, subscription models (SVOD), or advertising models (AVOD) is a plus.
- Strategic and Analytical Thinking: The ability to go beyond surface-level data, connect the dots, and generate insights that drive business decisions.
- Detail-Oriented with Analytical Rigor: Precision and accuracy in handling data, ensuring the validity and reliability of results.
