About the Role & Team

FX Networks is searching for a lawyer to work in the role of Attorney who will provide support in structuring, negotiating, drafting, and advising on deals and legal issues in connection with the marketing, promotion, and publicity operations and initiatives of FX Networks.

What You Will Do

  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide variety of agreements and deals, including vendor master agreements and statements of work, licenses, releases, production-related agreements, talent agreements, cross-promotions, and sponsorships.
  • Analyze and advise in connection with legal rights and obligations, guild agreements, intellectual property matters, claims, clearances, and other matters arising out of the day-to-day operations of marketing and publicity teams at a television network(s).  
  • Provide solutions-oriented advice and subsequent review and approval for marketing output in all forms, including experiential activations, promotional goods, audiovisual pieces, co-branded content, social media activity, and more.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 1+ years of experience.
  • Experience at a television network or studio and/or familiarity with marketing legal issues preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and analytical skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently and to contribute positively as a collaborative member of a team, with a strong commitment to curiosity, learning, and excellence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Strong drafting, organization, and time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and analyze legal issues and propose solutions and strategies for resolution.
  • Excellent work ethic and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build professional, interdepartmental relationships at multiple levels.
  • Desire to develop an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the television and streaming industry
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines/deliverables.

Education

  • J.D. and admission to California State Bar in good standing (or willingness and qualification to be a Registered In-House Counsel).

The hiring range for this position in Greater Los Angeles area is $119,700 to $154,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
