Summary 

The Communications Operations Manager is a crucial role within the Communications department at The Walt Disney Studios, responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of internal events, vendor management, and project coordination. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and project management skills. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, proactively identify and resolve issues, and work effectively with cross-functional teams. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Event Management: 

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute internal events for employees, including town halls, large scale internal events, conferences, leadership events, and other types of events. 

  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual equipment, purchasing, and attendee registration. 

  • Track event expenses. 

  • Post-event evaluation and reporting on event success. 

  • Vendor Management: 

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with vendors related to events, including caterers, A/V companies, activity companies, and others. 

  • Negotiate contracts and ensure vendor performance aligns with expectations. 

  • Assess vendor documentation, including insurance requirements and other relevant certifications. 

  • Manage vendor invoices. 

  • Project Coordination: 

  • Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. 

  • Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. 

  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders. 

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field or equivalent work experience. 

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in event management, project coordination, or a related field. Experience in a Communications department is a plus. 

  • Skills: 

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills. 

  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal). 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 

  • Experience with Kanban-like project management methodologies and tools. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively. 

  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently. 

  • Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience with graphic design, video editing, social media marketing, and A/V production; including live streaming, video capture, editing, and video streaming tools. 


The hiring range for this position in California is $112,700.00 to $154,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
