Job Summary:

About the Role & Program  

The Global Security Control Center (GSCC) is responsible for supporting emergency and non-emergency events, researching global affairs, incoming call mitigation, event dispatching, and event-driven global notification services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In an emergency, the team advises and coordinates Disney enterprise assistance and support by providing technical and advisory support for the performance of crucial operational services, the issuance of warnings of risks and hazards, dissemination of employee information, as well as serving the central communication intake point for management, control and reduction of immediate threats to health and safety.

This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Glendale, CA area from January 2026 – June 2026.

What You Will Do

As a Geospatial Intern, you will be a member of the Travel Safety Program and assist with mapping Disney’s geographical locations, trips, expeditions, productions and tours worldwide to enable the user to acquire real-time information to navigate clear from potential dangers, concerns and vulnerabilities; violent protests, inclement weather patterns, natural disasters, pandemic travel restrictions and ordinances, social media threats, medical emergencies, and other travel hazards.

Every day is unique in this role; and depending on the day, you could be assisting with…

  • Plotting Disney assets (worldwide) into security alerting platforms

  • Ensuring all assets are current by ingesting data from business partners across the enterprise

  • Assist in briefing internal and external partners on the geospatial capabilities of the GSCC

  • Using geospatial tools for visually spectacular graphics and presentations

  • Using intuitive data analysis tools and open-source data to add valuable context to asset locations

  • Providing cartographic support in the event of a security incident

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Foundational knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which includes one year or more of experience with GIS tools

  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams – Able to learn new programs/technical systems quickly

  • A self-starter with strong attention to detail; Able to take initiative and pivot when needed

  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment

  • Ability to progress between calm and very active work conditions; A sense of urgency in a 24/7 environment, with quick response to critical developing issues

  • Working experience with Esri’s ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with programming tools and automation platforms, including Python and Power Automate

  • Experience working with large sets of data

  • Familiar with Adobe Suite

  • Interest in security systems, physical security, threat analysis, and global affairs

  • Professional and demonstrates business acumen

Education

  • Junior or Senior preferred

  • Major of previous coursework in International Relations, Geospatial Studies, Geo-Design, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Technologies, Geo-Spatial Data Science, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information: 

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program

Additional Information 

  • Candidate must be fully available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship, Monday-Friday during normal business hours.

  • This internship is an on-site position, but also requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace for the days you may work from home.

  • Able to provide your own housing and reliable transportation for the duration of the internship program

The pay rate for this role in California is $22.50 per hour.
