Basic Purpose and Objective of Position:
The DSQ (Design Service and Show Quality Controle) Coordinator is responsible for providing facilitation, guidance and support to ensure that Disney’s high level of Show Quality is maintained. Through Brand Stewardship, this role is critical to creating and maintaining excellent guest experiences through cooperative partnerships with Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI), Walt Disney Attractions Japan (WDAJ) LOBs and Oriental Land Company (OLC), owner and operator of Tokyo Disney Resort.
The DSQ Coordinator is directly responsible for schedule and scope of DSQ projects and reviews by ensuring streamlined communication and collaboration from ideation through implementation. The Coordinator is responsible for schedule and phase tracking, managing all internal/external communication, documentation, product deliverables, overseeing milestone reviews, and production approval support.
This position provides integration and facilitation to the disciplines that support the Design Service projects and SQS Program. The Coordinator must consistently maintain a broad perspective across all disciplines in order to ensure that all elements that make up the show experience continuously delivers the original design intent and looks for opportunities and innovative ways to improve the show.
The position will be a contract position with possibility for renewal.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsible for schedule and scope of DSQ projects and reviews from ideation through implementation.
- Demonstrates Disney Knowledge and an understanding of Disney process, shares Global DSQ initiatives, best practices and lessons learned.
- Ensures that WDAJ LOBs and OLC understand the process and intent of original design including Show Awareness.
- Consistently maintains a broad perspective across all disciplines in order to ensure that all elements that make up the show experience continuously delivers the original design intent.
- Oversees creating and maintaining excellent guest experiences through cooperative partnerships with WDI Glendale, Global DSQ Office, WDAJ LOBs and OLC.
- Provides small to mid-size maintenance project support, clearly communicates feedback on improving reliability, safer accessibility and maintaining show readiness.
- Responsible for schedule and phase tracking, managing all internal/external communication, documentation, product deliverables, overseeing milestone reviews, and production approval support for the DSQ project.
- Provides integration and facilitation to the disciplines that support the SQS Program.
- Ensures that proper production records and photo documentation is secured and turned over for maintaining Disney Show Quality.
- Understands the show quality conditions of Parks and Resorts
- Initiates and plans the necessary Resort SQS WDI SME (Subject Matter Expert) business trip plans.
- Evaluates and provides suitable inputs for SQS review programs, including SME business trip agendas, rehab completion checks and attraction show reviews.

- Excellent Bi-lingual (Japanese/English) written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to negotiate and coordinate through conflict and problem-solve issues to resolution
- Ability to coordinate multiple disciplines and understand how they interrelate
- Proven ability to organize and communicate project development process and documentation
- Ability to take direction, adapt to change, establish relationships, and work in a team environment
Preferred Experience:
- Theme Park or Hospitality design coordination/management experience, design firm management/coordination or similar.
- Experience with multiple disciplines, and multiple internal and external business units.
