The approximate date of this internship is May/June 2026 to January 2027 and will be located inGlendale, CA.    

 

What You Will Do  

We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) intern to join the Facilities and Operations team which is responsible for the management of all “in-house” logistics, facilities support and operations for California Imagineering campuses. The scope of the team encompasses all space planning, design and integration of project-specific workspaces, facility construction, IT and telecom support and addressing the evolving needs of a world-class design company. As an intern on the team you will have the opportunity to:  

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide support for WDI Principal Safety Professional and Environmental Specialist 
  • Develop Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to determine site-specific safety requirements, including engineering controls, equipment specifications, machine guarding, PPE, training, and other controls  
  • Assist with incident investigations, develop mitigations, and evaluate/follow up on corrective actions. 
  • Assist in writing and updating safety programs, standards, and notifications  
  • Participate in special projects and assist in maintaining documentation  
  • Participate in physical sorting and handling of chemical waste, e-waste, and other regulated materials  
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, AQMD, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations  
  • Conduct, coordinate, and/or participate in safety and environmental training sessions 
  • Support safety and environmental initiatives for WDI and Disney Consumer Products (DCP) 
  • Conduct daily site safety walks and review mockup safety plans  
  • Review, advise, and approve PPE purchases  
  • Coordinate with vendors and on-site maintenance staff  
  • Participate in slip testing of new flooring and management of lab materials   
  • Assist in chemical approval process and management of SDS database inventory  
  • Assist in maintaining Imagineer learning plans  
  • Assist in maintaining spray booth logs   
  • Document inspection notes from Weekly Hazardous Waste Inspections, Weekly/Monthly Paint Booth Inspections, and Eyewash/Safety Shower Station Inspections 
  • Assist in the design and organization of hazardous waste storage areas 

 

Required Qualifications& Skills 

  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, AQMD, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail  
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and locations  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds 

   

Preferred Qualifications & Skills  

  • OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 certification  
  • Familiarity with chemical waste management and e-waste handling procedures  
  • Previous experience supporting training programs and incident investigations 
  • Must have a valid US driver’s license 

 

Education  

Currently enrolled as a junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree and studying Safety, Environmental or Industrial Hygiene or related field.  

 

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information 

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:  

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship   
  • Be at least 18 years of age   
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization   
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.   

 

Additional Information 

  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work   
  • Must be fully available for the duration of the internship   
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship in Glendale, CA   

The pay rate for this role in Glendale, CA is $26.50 per hour for undergraduate students and $27.50 per hour for graduate level students.
