The Senior Manager Electric Operations is a Disney Cast Member. The Reedy Creek Energy Services (RCES) Electric Operations group is comprised of Disney Cast Members that operate and maintain the electric utility system owned by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD) supplying the Walt Disney World Resort. The utility electric system includes overhead and underground 69kv transmission and 12kv distribution systems, substations, utility metering, protection and control systems, and an electric control center (systems operations). The electrical operations team works around the clock providing coverage seven days a week.
This role reports to the Director of Reedy Creek Energy Services (RCES) and is a leader-of-front-line leaders.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to approximately 60 Cast Members including salaried professionals, front-line leaders, and unionized skilled craft workers.
Typically manages a $10M annual labor and expense budget.
Lead a culture of safety through active and caring engagement with Cast Members to support the vision that “no one gets hurt”.
Ensure the safe and reliable operation of the utility electric system. Ensure all operations comply with local, state and national regulations.
Lead the utilization of Maximo (EAM system) to record and track the utility assets including prioritization and completion of all preventatives, predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
Lead the response to abnormal electric system conditions and outages. Conduct after action reviews and provide timely summaries of the event and learnings.
Partner and collaborate with customers to facilitate the planned and unplanned upgrades to utility systems impacting their systems and facilities.
Basic Qualifications:
Eight years of progressive leadership experience in the electric utility industry; including supervision in a unionized environment.
Detailed knowledge of applicable safety standards, work methods, practices, and training related to electric distribution systems.
Must be flexible and available to respond to after-hour emergencies under short notice.
Demonstrated experience using an enterprise asset management (EAM) system.
Ability to perform work in a variety of field and industrial environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Electric utility experience in field operations and outage restoration.
Knowledge and implementation of error reduction techniques (human performance).
Working knowledge of advanced metering and protection systems.
Registration as a Professional Engineer.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field is required.
