Job Summary:

Disneyland Resort has an opening for a Distribution Services Manager supporting the Warehouse/Distribution Center in Ontario, CA. Responsible for the leadership and management of personnel and facility for assigned areas with a focus on the Five Keys (Safety, Courtesy, Show, Efficiency, and Inclusion). You will be accountable for ensuring a safe and efficient operation, while focusing on internal Guest service, process and procedures achieved by coaching, mentoring and providing performance feedback to your Cast Members.

In this role you will understand the strategic goals of the operation, ensure the team is able to implement the tactical skills needed to improve productivity, maintain a high level of service while seeking financial opportunities. You will collaborate with Resort and Segment Partners (Finance, Safety, Merchandise, Facilities, etc) to understand their needs and implement process changes to achieve Win/Win situations. You will administer performance feedback including recognition, discipline and performance appraisals and respond to Guest concerns and provide appropriate service solutions. You should be able to step in for the Area Manager when necessary.

This position reports directly to the Area Mgr-Distribution Svcs in Ontario, CA.

You Will/Responsibilities:

Area Coverage:

  • Develop and support a safe and efficient culture through open communication regarding Cast Member performance in regard to our goals.

  • Responsible for owning and reviewing the Operating Guides for their area and the facility. Routinely examine current processes and look for alternative best practices to meet changing requirements.

  • Manage workflow and Cast to meet budget objectives and achieve daily goals. Exploit opportunities for enhanced learning, new tools and technology by analyzing issues and trends.

Administrative Procedures:

  • WMS expertise. Process Cast Member paperwork, i.e. separations, discipline documentation, time sheets, etc.

  • Use budgetary skills to forecast, plan and execute the business along with analyzing financial data to recognize aberrations and trends.

  • Conduct accident investigations with root cause analysis and remedies for solutions. Initiate and develop documented training procedures and programs.

  • Follow through on e-mails/voicemails in a timely manner, ensuring understanding that will fulfill the requestors needs.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coach, mentor and recognize the Cast. Nurture a relationship with each Cast Member led, providing development, feedback and problem-solving resources.

  • Oversee the arrival of new hire Cast Members by conducting scheduled check-ins. Develop existing Cast Members through formal and informal performance feedback sessions.

  • Ensure the administration of recognition, leave of absence tracking, safety coaching, performance management, cascade communication to Cast Member.

  • Develop and document the training and knowledge transfer to successfully manage the areas KPI's.

  • Manage vendor relationships to support the facility and equipment in regard to repair and maintenance

  • Directs activity of Cast within assigned area, frequently directs Cast throughout Distribution Services organization and coordinates activities with partners throughout the supply chain.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned

  • NOTE we are a 7 day a week operation in Ontario, CA. This role will have a schedule that may include weekends, holidays etc

You Will Have/Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of directly related experience (this may include internships, project management, and/or leadership experience)

  • Experience working in an agile environment where direction and priorities may shift and change quickly. Experience leading and/or working in an inclusive environment

  • Experience working with Microsoft products including Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams

  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience

  • Demonstrated problem solving and confident decision-making skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to provide written communication to all audience levels including operating guides

  • Leadership qualities that demonstrate successful mentoring, planning, communication and execution for hourly Cast Members

  • Proven experience creating clear and consistent strategies and direction, with skills in planning, development and execution.

  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to leverage organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills resulting in positive results

  • Consistently demonstrates the understanding of the Disney Heritage, Values, and Culture in their daily activities

  • Empowered to manage location, including staffing and discipline with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment

  • Experience leading direct reports and a team (people manager) - including managing hourly staff (preferred managing union staff)

  • Warehouse Management System (WMS), specifically Blue Yonder

  • Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP), specifically SAP

  • Proficient in Spanish language

  • Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Value Stream mapping experience

  • Budget and accounting knowledge

  • Experience with PowerPoint, advanced Excel or data tools such as Power BI, tableau and other data/metrics visualization tools and present information to leadership.

  • Experience working across functional lines and as a member of a diverse, matrixed team while driving collaboration. Able to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with varying priorities and deadlines. Experience interacting with a variety of cross functional partners such as Resorts, Operations, Merchandise, facilities, security, and more

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or Manufacturing (or related field) or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education:

  • MBA, Master’s or related post-graduate degree.

The hiring range for this position in Ontario, CA is $79,400.00 to $106,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
