At Disney Experiences Technology, our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company’s premier vacation brands including Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. The Disney Experiences Technology team is responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including the MyDisneyExperience app and Hey, Disney!

The Senior Systems Engineer will configure, validate, and support enterprise applications across Disney’s digital experience ecosystem, with a focus on RWS Tridion CMS (D-Scribe) and AEP (Shuri). This role ensures platform stability, scalability, and continuous improvement by implementing technical solutions, validating integrations, and partnering across engineering, product, and business teams.

Senior Systems Engineers contribute both to sustainment (triaging incidents, resolving defects, validating telemetry) and delivery (supporting new use cases, ensuring configuration readiness, and validating end-to-end user stories).

Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering and Support

  • Configure and maintain enterprise platforms including D-Scribe and Shuri
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across CMS workflows, personalization rules, and data structures
  • Read, interpret, and validate JSON structures from service integrations to ensure accuracy and alignment with platform requirements
  • Perform audits, monitor telemetry, and maintain compliance with system health standards

Use Case and Delivery Support

  • Support delivery teams by preparing environments, validating schemas, and ensuring use cases and user stories are production-ready
  • Participate in backlog refinement and sprint planning as a technical owner, providing effort estimates and identifying risks
  • Validate completed work against defined user stories and provide technical acceptance of delivered features

Incident Response and Sustainment

  • Lead triage during high-severity incidents, coordinate with vendors, and manage escalations
  • Monitor vendor SLA performance and document root cause analysis for continuous improvement
  • Maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with engineers, QA, and product owners to align delivery with business priorities
  • Contribute to technical reviews, design discussions, and release readiness assessments
  • Mentor junior engineers, reinforcing standards and best practices across the team

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience in systems engineering, application sustainment, or technical delivery
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise content and personalization platforms (e.g., RWS Tridion CMS/D-Scribe, AEP/Shuri)
  • Ability to troubleshoot applications, analyze telemetry, and optimize performance
  • Proficiency with SQL/NoSQL databases and API testing tools (Postman) for JSON validation
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and AppDynamics
  • Experience with CI/CD practices and distributed version control systems (Git)
  • Comfortable working in Agile environments with backlog management tools (Jira, Confluence)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience sustaining large-scale enterprise content and personalization platforms
  • Familiarity with schema design, tagging frameworks, and identity/personalization rules
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Strong communication skills, including executive-ready reporting

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Preferred: Advanced coursework or certifications in systems engineering, cloud technologies, or digital platforms
