Position Summary

Industrial Light & Magic’s (ILM) Studio Talent Group (STG) unites the most dedicated and experienced artists, producers, engineers, and managers in the entertainment industry to help employees reach their full potential. Working with ILM’s global talent base in San Francisco, Mumbai, London, Vancouver and Sydney, our STG instructors are some of the industry's brightest creative and technical talents, including Oscar-winners, world-class artists, designers, and engineers. The STG intern will focus on support of the STG department in a wide range of technical tasks, gaining a broad exposure to the VFX pipeline. The STG Intern will focus on maintaining and developing scripts that support the technical aspects of the Studio Talent Group, taking direction from the  VFX Training Supervisor and Training Technical Specialists.

What You Need to Know

  • You must be a Canadian Citizen or hold Canadian Permanent Resident status

  • You must be attending an Undergraduate program from a public Canadian post-secondary education institution, and returning to your studies following the internship

  • This is a paid four-month internship, beginning May 4, 2026

  • This role is considered Hybrid, which means you will work onsite at our Vancouver studio and occasionally from home

  • You will be required to work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm

  • We do not provide assistance for relocation, housing, transportation, or work authorization for internships

What You’ll Do

  • Help maintain our tool suite, including new releases/upgrades as necessary

  • Organize STG digital files and materials

  • Troubleshoot any related support questions

  • Maintain and update Wordpress sites including STG’s site, and survey tools, ensuring content is current and relevant

  • Post vidcaps/recordings to Confluence after Speaker Series presentations

  • Technical content support: assist STG trainers/instructors with technical preparation for global training sessions or presentations

  • Assist with department communications 

What We’re Looking For

  • Studies in film, art, communications, computer science, business or related field, preferred

  • Strong scripting skills in at least one programming language (Python, Javascript, etc) is a must

  • Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks

  • Proactive and follows through with projects independently

  • Interest in filmmaking and the entertainment industry

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to interact well with diverse personalities

  • An open minded and receptive attitude, comfortable receiving and acting on constructive feedback 

  • Experience with Linux is nice to have

The pay rate for this role in Vancouver is C$25.00 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
